Commonly Asked Questions
Q: What equipment do I need when I attend your class?
A:Well maintened and quality skates, helmet, wrist-knee-elbow pads. And always bring water!
Q:Will I be able to skate and stop on the first day?
A: Very likely you wil be able to. The first focusus on balance & safety with a goal of skating forward & stopping by end of class.
Q: How long until I'm able to skate along Lake Shore Drive's bike path?
A: That all depends on how quickly you pick up the skills. Some people in several weeks are out on their own, others take months and others can take up
to a year. Factor in previous athletic ability, willingness to move forward and building up of balance & confidence.
Q: I want to skate in a marathon, how long will it take me to prepare?
A: Again as answered in question above it depends on you. If you're very determined and train seriously you could be ready by the next season!
Q:How long until I'm able to skate along Lake Shore Drive's bike path?
A: As soon as you gain excellent balance, a decent forward stroke and can safely stop, you should do just fine on the path. I recommend however skating North of Belmont however to avoid
the large groups of people. This can make a new skater nervous. You want to relax and concentrate on your form and this is better acquired
when 500 people are not in your way.
Q:Where do you hold your classes?
A: Classes are held at
--> Tropical Park, on Bird Rd & The Palmetto or a number of other nice parks
Depends on where you live and if I travel.
Q:Will you come to me for a lesson?
A: That depends on my time and schedule and if you're willing to pay for me to travel.
Q: Do you teach children?
A: Yes! I offer lessons to people of every age however since children have different learning needs
it's suggested they not attend a class with adults. IF I have time for private lessons that is more beneficial.
Q:How much do you charge?
A: Group lessons are $25 per person. Private are from $50 to $60 (on the higher side if traveling is involved)
